Hootie & the Blowfish was formed in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1986 by Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim Sonefeld. The band quickly developed a cult following in Canada, with their self-titled 1991 cassette becoming the first independent release ever to be certified gold in Canada. Their debut album with Reprise Records, Gordon, featuring the singles If I Had $1,000,000 and Brian Wilson. Their other hits include It’s All Been Done and Pinch Me.
